Chessmaster

Oct. 14, 2006. Kitkat's dad taught her how to play chess. On this picture, you can see Kit playing with her Lolo Dy.

It's actually Dy who influenced us to love chess. His passion for this game was renewed a few months ago. And because Kitkat would always see Dy play everyday, she asked me to teach her how to play the game.

One day, when Jenn fetched Kit, she was surprised to see Kindergarten children playing chess! It seems that Kitkat has started a trend at school :) After class, she would play with her classmates while she waited for her mom or Tito Abet.

Boing dances while listening to the music...

After the mental exercise came the physical exercise...

Kitkat called us to watch Boing as he did 10 sit ups!

Kitkat also did 10...

Family Day at Quezon City Memorial Circle

On Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, we went to the Circle to have a quality time with the whole family (including our toy poodle, Kisbee). The first thing we did when we got there... was to buy food.

Kitkat rode her bicycle while Yaya Merl held Kisbee's leash. Jenn and I lost some pounds(?!) by playing the frisbee while Boing played baseball with the sampaguita vendors. We're proud of you, Boing! You shared your toy and took turns with them. He gladly jumped whenever someone would hit the ball. The children said it was the first time that a visitor shared his toy with them.

Here are some of our pics taken at Q.C. Memorial Circle:

Kitkat's 7th Birthday (Oct. 4, 2006)

On October 4, 2006, Boing, Yaya Benining and I went to Kitkat's school (Victory Christian School at Every Nation Leadership Institute Building, Fort Bonifacio) to give her a surprise birthday party. Kitkat said that her break time is only 10 minutes and it would start at 9:40am, so we arrived at 9:37. To our surprise, we got there when the kids were about to enter their classroom. The breaktime starts at 9:20am, according to the teacher. Anyway, Teacher Michelle was kind enough to give us 10 minutes to celebrate (it was stretched to 25 minutes).

Jenn wasn't with us because she held an event called Campaign for Proper Nutrition at a school and gave a talk in front of 600 students, but was able to celebrate with us at home.

We brought ice cream and cake for Kit's classmates, teachers, guard-friends and Belen of the canteen. Although it was simple, it was special. During breaktime, Kitkat asked seven of her classmates to pray for her. These 7-year old children prayed that Kitkat would be a great leader someday; that she would be a blessing to many people; that she would be thankful for what she has; that she would be a star to people; and that God would send His precious blood and protect her. Did I say they're 7-year old children? Honestly, I believe that these children will be able to make a big difference during their lifetime. These future leaders will shape our nation.

Anyway, here are the rest of the pics...

Horsy-horsy, Tigidig-tigidig

This picture was taken by Kitkat on Oct. 1, 2006. We were playing in our room in QC then all of a sudden, Jenn had the idea of checking my bone structure. As soon as she got on my back, Boing hurriedly went to the top and pretended to be the horse rider. Yup, I'm the horse in this picture... but what is Jenn? Kitkat said... "She's the saddle!"
